Abbeyfield Saskatoon is safe and affordable housing for ten independent seniors who choose to live in a family-style setting. Abbeyfield House provides companionship, security, personal space, independence and support for the senior who no longer wants to live alone.
The large bungalow is located at the former entrance to the Saskatoon Sanatorium site. Abbeyfield Saskatoon is located across the street from a beautiful park with treed lanes and safe, easy to walk sidewalks. There are comfortable park benches to rest on along the way. Enjoy strolls along the river bank on paved pathways that are only two short blocks away. There is a city bus stop ½ a block away plus a seniors bus service Access Transit for traveling to appointments and/or shopping.
Abbeyfield Saskatoon provides each resident with a bed-sitting room with three piece ensuite that includes a walk-in shower. Residents furnish the suite with a bed, dresser and their personal belongings. A closet, large sink with counter space for a microwave or kettle, telephone and TV cable outlet are available in each suite.
Common areas on the main floor include a spacious living room with fireplace, dining area, laundry room, solarium and craft room. A walk-in jet tub and timer controlled heat lamp are located in the communal bathroom. An elevator allows residents to access the large activity room and guest room in the lower level.
It is not a licensed personal care home or a nursing home.
